LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Immigrants not all Democrats

The only consolation when it comes to the hordes of people crossing our southern border is that these illegals probably have better values and principles than most of the Democrats. They've seen -- and are fleeing from -- socialism, and they're religious people (exceptions noted). Published March 11, 2021

EDITORIAL: Why is Biden hiding?

March 11 marks President Biden's 50th full day in office. That's halfway to the proverbial presidential "first 100 days," but he has yet to hold a full-blown press conference. Published March 10, 2021

EDITORIAL: Democrats coronavirus stimulus 91 percent pork

Democrats are poised to pass what the White House has declared "the most progressive bill in history," where only 9% of the nearly $2 trillion in spending is dedicated to coronavirus relief and the other 91% goes to money for the arts, humanities, transportation, abortion, loan forgiveness for students and "socially disadvantaged farmers," whatever that means. LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Trump had right to court’s comments

Under the Court of King's Bench, a judge could summarily dismiss any litigation in the colonies without any reason given. These actions outraged the colonists, as did being forced to travel to a loyalist province to have a case heard. Published March 9, 2021

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Voting-machine hacking not ‘false’

As a former military officer who swore an oath to protect the Constitution from both foreign and domestic enemies, I feel it is my duty to try to expose what really happened to the 2020 elections. The presidential election was stolen from Donald Trump by voting machines made by foreign countries, mainly China. Where is the proof of these cyberattacks, the greatest ever on the United States? "Pillow Man" Michael Lindell produced a two-hour video, "Absolute Proof," that contains, well, absolute proof of the attack. It includes a lengthy report of individual voting-machine hacks, with time and date, location and identification of the specific machine. Of course, an Internet search for "Absolute Proof" will bring up "warnings" that the documentary has been "fact-checked" and determined to be "false." Published March 8, 2021

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Where will left stop?

Step by step this country is turning into something that resembles the Soviet bloc. Our nation's history is being erased and radical ideology is filling the void. Published March 8, 2021

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Horowitz, ICC both Israel’s enemies

In any democratic nation the call by the opposition leader for an investigation into alleged crimes by the nation's armed forces would be called treason. Nitzan Horowitz, the elected head of Israel's Labor Party, has struck against the very foundations of the Jewish state by calling for cooperation with the terminally biased-against-Israel International Criminal Court. The ICC intends to render judgment on what can only be considered a defensive action by the Israeli military against the incessant rocket attacks by Hamas from its enclave in Gaza. The head of the federal Justice Department's Civil Rights Division told Gov. Gavin Newsom Tuesday, May 19, 2020, that his plan to reopen California discriminates against churches. EDITORIAL: When churches crumble, so does respect for life

There are several ways to desecrate a church. One is to destroy it from the outside — burn it and vandalize its holy contents as a sign of disrespect. Another is to attack it from the inside — undermine its teachings and turn its congregants against their own beliefs. Christianity, for one, is under attack from without and within. As religious values fade from the social landscape, with them disappears respect for human life. Published March 7, 2021

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Plant more trees

My wife and I are habitual tree huggers. We tend to all 24 of the trees on our property as often as possible, and they are wonderful trees. Back in 1978, our lot was devoid of all vegetation so we started planting trees soon after our house was constructed. We planted all of the trees in the first 10 years, including maples, birch, crab trees, willows and pines. Published March 7, 2021

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Democrats’ bill unconstitutional

I have to admit, I am confused. I read in the U.S. Constitution that the states are the ones in charge of creating and managing how their elections are to be performed ("ACLU blasts Democrats' election bill as unconstitutional," Web, March 4). So where do the Democrats get off making wholesales changes to a process over which the states have sole constitutional control? Published March 7, 2021

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Congress can’t make D.C. a state

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and exclusively Democrats desperately want D.C. to become a state. But as long as there is the 23rd Amendment to our U.S. Constitution, which gives the people in D.C. the right to vote for the president (ratified in 1961), Congress cannot legislate D.C. statehood. As with the 18th Amendment, repealed by the 21st Amendment, so must the language of the 23rd Amendment be removed before Congress can act. Simply put, the cart can't come before the horse. LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Left, media can’t keep ‘Teflon Don’ down

Many political commentators on the left still don't get the phenomenon of Donald Trump. Trumpism is here to stay. Many thought the Jan. 6 riot on Capitol Hill and Mr. Trump's second impeachment trial signalled the end of the man politically, but instead he has gotten much stronger in many polls. LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Bat-transmission theory unlikely

COVID-19 changed everything, but this sorry event has yet to play out. The question of where this particular SARS virus came from has been researched for well over a year, and the results are being buried because the implications are just too awful to contemplate politically. LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: ‘White supremacy’ not a national threat

FBI Director Christopher Wray is warning of White supremacists and domestic terrorism metastasizing across America ("FBI Director Wray says Capitol attack was domestic terrorism," Web, March 2). What is really happening is the people of America are increasingly unhappy with politicians fundamentally transforming their country — and they are speaking up and out against them. This is not domestic terrorism; it is national disgust with the new, anti-American, ruling-party elite. Published March 3, 2021

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Selfishness breeds tyranny

Reason is dead in America. What has replaced it is the kind of ignorant emotion that inspired the right-wing insurrection in Washington on Jan. 6 and the leftist property destruction in U.S. cities last year. Published March 3, 2021
