LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Biden’s abysmal presidential record
I just turned 76, I'm a lifelong independent voter and I'm not in the best of health. I have voted for Democrats and Republicans in my 55 voting years, but our current president's stance on immigration has left me totally beside myself. Published April 8, 2021
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: The cover-up continues
Joe Biden's meeting with Chinese leaders in Alaska was really not "the first tangible sign that something had gone wrong ("Biden showing weakness both at home and abroad," Web, March 27). It has been obvious for years that Biden was not a viable candidate for the most important job in the world. Published April 8, 2021
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Uncontrolled influx a disaster for U.S.
America is facing a worsening crisis of uncontrolled illegal immigration ignited by the radical Biden immigration agenda. Less than 100 days into the Biden presidency, we are witnessing a deeply destructive "Biden effect" at our southern border, as his radical immigration agenda has become a magnet for renewed illegal immigration. By reversing the positive immigration policy changes made by the Trump administration, the "Biden effect" is a growing disaster for America. Published April 7, 2021
EDITORIAL: Biden’s vaccine regime is shorting the nation’s capital
The District of Columbia is an illustrious city, but lately, its pride has been wounded. Published April 7, 2021
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Attacks on one party threaten all parties
I was shocked when I read the editorial "Mr. Gaetz, maybe it's time to go" (Web, April 5), calling for the Republican representative to consider resigning. The recommendation is based on unproven charges by a female and by "two individuals who have chosen to remain anonymous." I never thought I would see something like this on the pages of The Washington Times. Hasn't this nation been through enough smear tactics that have included "anonymous sources?" And once again, it happens to be a Republican facing the accusations. Published April 7, 2021
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: For the People Act unconstitutional
House Ruling 1, now pending in Congress, would provide for a takeover of our election systems for federal elections by the U.S. government. This is anti-constitutional and undermines the premise that the states control their elections, even for federal elections. This new bill is being supported by the Biden administration, which shows no interest in the U.S. Constitution or what it requires. Published April 7, 2021
EDITORIAL: Republicans can show voters how destructive and pointless Biden’s mission is
One of the fun new talking points offered by the cool kids in the Biden administration is that a new report from Moody's Analytics indicates that President Biden's infrastructure-is-really-everything-we-can-possibly-imagine plan will help create 18.9 million new jobs by 2030. Published April 6, 2021
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Don’t pay college athletes
Your article, "NCAA, college athletes square off at Supreme Court over student compensation" (Web, March 31), shows the desperation, once again, of some groups to secure part of the revenues earned from college athletics. Certain parties are claiming athletes are suffering due to the current NCAA formula of providing forms of financial support to student athletes. It appears that these groups have wrongly promoted their position, misleading the public and now the U.S. Supreme Court. Published April 6, 2021
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Abortion not ‘essential health care’
The Center for American Progress (CAP) wants the evil of killing an unborn baby to be valued as essential health care and protected by law. An email titled "Abortion is Essential Healthcare" by Jamille Fields Allsbrook, CAP director of women's health and rights, stated: "We must transform how abortion is treated in this country This means building a cultural and systemic framework that values abortion as essential health care." Published April 6, 2021
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: U.S. not looking good under Biden
Prior to last November's election, a social media post expressed concern that voters, impressed by President Trump's successful economic policies, might "mistakenly" reelect him. The author went on to spew hatred of Mr. Trump, vowing to "vote for a rock" in reference thereto. Published April 6, 2021
EDITORIAL: MLB’s foul ball in Georgia
When the commissioner of Major League Baseball on Friday made the knee-jerk decision to pull the 2021 All-Star Game out of Atlanta to punish Georgia for its new election-integrity law, he involved baseball in something that's none of his — or MLB's — business. Published April 5, 2021
EDITORIAL: Mr. Gaetz, maybe it’s time to go
Things are not looking good for Matt Gaetz, the Florida Republican who made his name and reputation as one of Donald J. Trump's most ardent congressional supporters. Published April 5, 2021
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Don’t make rash decisions
With the cancellation of the All-Star game in Georgia, Major League Baseball has put itself in a pickle ("MLB to move All-Star Game out of Atlanta in response to Georgia voter law," Web, April 2). It could have future opposition to having the game played in states that have even stricter rules for casting a vote. The states of New York, Massachusetts, Texas and Pennsylvania do not have no-excuse absentee voting, although Georgia has it. Wisconsin and Michigan do not have early voting, although Georgia has it. Published April 5, 2021
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Can we all be BIPOC?
The Washington Times once again taught me something I hadn't known: BIPOC ("'So much shame': Woke left-wingers increasingly embarrassed over White 'privileged' status," Web, March 8). Published April 5, 2021
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Celebrity firings are payoffs
After accusations of racist remarks and a head-to-head conflict with "The Talk" co-host Sheryl Underwood, Sharon Osbourne could be walking away with a cool $5 to $10 million minimum payout ("'The Talk' on hiatus amid CBS probe into Sharon Osbourne comments," Web, March 15). Published April 5, 2021
EDITORIAL: Biden aims to liberate both border and ballot box
Chaotic times spell trouble for most, opportunity for others. Published April 4, 2021
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: New law ensures vote integrity
Let me see if I have this straight: 'Woke' corporate executives James Quincey of the Coca-Cola Co. and Ed Bastian of Delta Airlines are pandering to the radical left, threatening to boycott Georgia over its new election laws. But at the same time these social warriors have no problem doing business with China, a country that holds a million or more Muslim Uighurs in re-education camps. Published April 4, 2021
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Where’s the GOP in Biden mosaic?
Someone was missing at President Biden's first Cabinet meeting last week. Remember his campaign promise to reunite America and appoint the most diverse cabinet and administration in history, representing the gorgeous American mosaic? Now, into the fourth month of his administration, he has yet to appoint any Republicans. Published April 4, 2021
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Biden dooming us all
I'm no Bible thumper by any stretch of the imagination, but I have studied religion over the past 40 years, which makes me think that President Biden is the antichrist leading his brainwashed minion sociopaths down the road to kill American democracy as we know it. Published April 4, 2021
EDITORIAL: Trendy prescriptions are no substitute for enduring convictions
'Follow the science," has been the emblematic chant of high officeholders during the age of coronavirus. Published April 1, 2021
