Democrats exploit another atrocity

The latest mass shooting, this one in Buffalo, New York, is a horrendous tragedy ("Buffalo shooter previously on authorities' radar in threat investigation," Web, May 15). The alleged perpetrator of the crimes, which are being called racially motivated, may well be a complete lunatic seeking fame. Published May 16, 2022

Don’t like it? Don’t watch it.

In a recent internal culture memo, Netflix reportedly urged employees to support the company in offering a diverse range of movies and shows -- despite the fact that employees may not agree with all the offered content. Published May 16, 2022

Bible still holds sway

We had been told that the big box stores would have "Revealing Revelation" by Amir Tsarfati on their bookshelves. Target had two; not by the time we got there. When we couldn't find Mr. Tsarfati's latest tome on a Walmart shelf, either, the manager promised he'd find out why there were no copies left. Published May 16, 2022

Charge justices’ harassers

It's clear that participants in the Jan. 6, 2021, protests at the U.S. Capitol did not understand that laissez-faire attitudes to 574 preceding instances of leftist riots, looting and/or arson established and inspired standards of conduct that applied only to leftists. Published May 13, 2022

Parasitic politicians help only themselves

The man who cuts our grass pays $65 for enough gas to drive his truck and equipment across town to do his job. He has had to lay off some employees, raise prices and cut customers who live too far away in order to stay in business. Published May 13, 2022

Biden gas-price gaslighting

President Biden's "Ministry of Truth" ("Disinformation Governance Board: Biden's 'Ministry of Truth,'" Web, May 2) should start by calling out Mr. Biden himself for attempting to gaslight the American public with his "Putin's price hike" rhetoric. First of all, the U.S. stopped buying Russian oil after the invasion of Ukraine. Published May 13, 2022

Are we children of God?

For all those who have an opinion concerning abortion (in particular, President Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who profess to be devout Catholics) I have a question: Do you believe in the existence of an immortal soul? If your answer is yes, at what point do you believe a baby is blessed by God with an immortal soul? Published May 12, 2022

To left, babies just work interference

It is difficult to imagine all the dogs of war that have been released on the unborn. However, when the secretary of the Treasury testifies before the Senate that abortion is good for the economy, I must take pen in hand ("Treasury Secretary Yellen claims overturning Roe will damage U.S. economy," Web, May 10). Kick ‘activists’ to the curb

Allowing activists to illegally protest outside the homes of our Supreme Court justices while our police stand by watching and not arresting anyone sends a disturbing message throughout here and abroad ("U.S. Marshals ordered to protect Supreme Court justices amid rising protests," Web, May 11). Murder is not a right

Pro-choice activists call abortion a fundamental right. I disagree. When it comes to fundamental rights, none can surpass the right to live. Published May 11, 2022

Tampons for boys? Stop nonsense

I just read that Oregon has passed the "Menstrual Dignity Act" requiring menstrual products to be placed in boys' school bathrooms ("Portland schools offer free feminine-hygiene products in boys' bathrooms for 'menstruating students,'" Web, May 2). Published May 11, 2022

What have Democrats done for the U.S.?

In his 1961 inauguration address, President John F. Kennedy said, "Ask not what your country can do for you -- ask what you can do for your country." In 2022 it is "Ask not what your country can do for you -- ask what the Democrats can do to secure power." Published May 11, 2022

My money, my choice

Everett Piper's Commentary piece, "Is a baby human?" (Web, May 8) fails to frame the real question regarding abortion -- the one that divides and bitterly polarizes Americans. Whether a divine entity created something from nothing, including organisms on Earth, remains unanswered by the best brains among us and may for eons. Published May 9, 2022

Can we trust any government office?

According to "The real Secret Service scandal" (Web, April 16), America's federal bureaucracy, or deep state, has been so corrupted and infiltrated by leftist spies that even private, classified documents of U.S. Supreme Court can now be compromised and leaked. This poses the question: In the absence of polygraph exams, can we trust anything even remotely political coming from any office of our government? Published May 9, 2022

Only chumps pay for college

With his plan to forgive student loan debt, President Biden is about to make fools out of a lot of us ("Biden says his student loan plan is 'not yet' finished," Web, May 2). Published May 9, 2022

‘2000 Mules’ based on hard facts

I recently watched the Dinesh D'Souza film "2000 Mules." At the very least, the movie makes a compelling case using what appears to be incontrovertible evidence that not only was there massive "ballot stuffing" fraud in the key swing states, but that the fraud literally stole the election from former President Donald Trump and gave it to President Biden. Work together to defeat Putin

The Russian invasion of Ukraine and the attendant destruction, deaths and war crimes against humanity have all dramatically changed the status of our world. They serve as a wakeup call for the rest of Europe to be ready to confront Russia. Published May 6, 2022

U.S. must decide morality of abortion

Fifty years after the inauguration of Roe v. Wade, 60 million unborn babies have been slaughtered owing to that decision. This is infanticide on a massive scale undertaken by a country that claims to have moral principles. There is no doubt that the far left and the Democrats are at the head of the line in promoting such horror under the Supreme Court decision. Published May 6, 2022

Letter to the editor: Trump supporters have right to be angry

President Biden has called former President Donald Trump's Make America Great Again movement the "most extreme" group in U.S. history. That might be a rare factual statement coming from our cognitively challenged "leader." Published May 5, 2022

LGBTQ cases about religious freedom

Although Gene Marks is correct that business should serve all customers, the cases of the Colorado baker and web designer are not about serving ("Should a private business be forced to serve an LGBTQ customer?" Web, May 3). They are instead about forced messaging. Published May 5, 2022
