Truth totally foreign to Biden
The Biden administration promised to bring "trust and transparency" back to the presidency. Albert Einstein said, "Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters." What an important message for today. Published October 6, 2021
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: So much for ‘moderate’
Joe Biden defeated Sen. Bernie Sanders for the Democratic presidential nomination -- and then won the presidency by campaigning as a moderate ("'Nasty side of the aisle': Biden, Democrats turn blind eye as far-left rages against moderates," Web, Oct. 5). As I am loathe to impute that Biden campaigned in an intentionally insincere manner, I assume that his assumption of Sanders' socialist agenda is an honest post-election conversion, as he grappled with tenacious problems of state unforeseen prior to the election. Americans must retake own freedom
David Bossie concludes his recent column by writing that "it's time for Joe Biden to change course and give Americans their freedom back ... " ("Once heroes, hospital workers now villains for refusing vaccine," Web, Oct. 4) Published October 6, 2021
Vaccine could harm armed forces
On Sept. 16, WIBC radio in Indianapolis reported that 125 health workers at Indiana University Health quit their jobs rather than receive the COVID-19 vaccine. A report from National Public Radio three days prior reported that a hospital in New York will stop delivering babies for a while due to a shortage of maternity-ward workerss, many of whom had quit their jobs rather than get the vaccine. What do these hospital workers know about the vaccine that the average person does not? Published October 5, 2021
Why is free college in infrastructure bill?
While watching the activities of Congress and the members' inability to agree on so legislation ranging from various criminal bills to infrastructure, what's frustrating as a taxpayer is the lack of prioritizing ("Progressives defend Capitol Hill impasse: We're pushing Biden's agenda," Web, Oct. 3). Virginia needs Youngkin
The lack of respect Terry McAuliffe has had for parents across Virginia (especially northern Virginia) in the past year-and-a-half is revealing. Parents had their children's schools closed without recourse last year. Now, with schools thankfully open, the online option has been removed for many of the parents who need it. Military could help with port blocks
COVID-19 restrictions and a shortage of dock workers have contributed to a backlog of cargo ships waiting to offload at U.S. ports. As of the end of September, dozens of ships were at anchor or adrift waiting to enter New York City, New Jersey, Long Beach, California, and Los Angeles ports. The backlog is causing supply-chain shortages of goods across the country and is affecting the upcoming holiday shopping season. Published October 4, 2021
Empty vessel Harris
Kamala Harris simply has no core beliefs -- so when challenged, she simply nods agreement with anything so as to avoid a situation where she is obliged to defend or promote a contrary view ("'Stop saying stupid stuff': Sen. John Kennedy offers crisis-communications tips to Kamala Harris," Web, Sept. 29). Harris is a sideshow at best. She goes whichever way the political winds of the moment happen to be blowing. She is what is sometimes referred to as a phony. Published October 4, 2021
Term limits for Congress now
The socialists running the Democratic Party are attempting to remove our capitalist representative form of government and replace it with a socialist economy and government similar to those of Venezuela. Their weapon of choice: the $3.5 trillion (actually$ 5.5 trillion with all costs factored in) Biden human infrastructure bill. Published October 4, 2021
So much for herd immunity
Herd immunity was never in the cards for the COVID-19 vaccines, and if you want to know why just ask your local veterinarian ("Biden admits herd immunity is a mirage," Web, Sept. 29). In fact, a veterinarian who works in animal agriculture has direct experience with what you are witnessing, as these "leaky," non-sterilizing vaccines are administered across the population. Why is U.S. now soft on crime?
Crime in the United States has increased dramatically in the past two year,s particularly in Democrat-controlled cities ("U.S. facing biggest homicide rate increase in 60 years," Web, Sept. 23). Published October 3, 2021
Don’t ‘forget’ about 2020 election
Michael McKenna's piece instructing Donald Trump and his supporters to just forget about 2020 is maddening ("Time for Trump and GOP to get over 2020 election," Web, Sept. 29). The point is not to decertify the 2020 results and reinstate Trump as president; the point is to document what happened to ensure that it never happens again. Published October 3, 2021
Marine jailed to shield Biden
I just heard about the injustice inflicted on Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller, who despite having served in the U.S Marine Corps for many years, was jailed this week. The reason: He violated UCMJ laws by making a video asking for those responsible for the botched Afghanistan evacuation to stand up and admit their guilt. Published September 30, 2021
Trump was cheated, period.
Michael McKenna's recent column completely misses the point ("Time for Trump and GOP to get over 2020 election," Web, Sept. 29). By only noting that the ballot count favored Biden, he is parroting the left's talking point. The larger point that he doesn't even mention is that there were tens of thousands of illegally counted ballots identified by the auditors. There were also likely 200,000 or more illegal votes identified by an independent canvass. This same level of cheating occurred in other states, too. Published September 30, 2021
Biden must be removed now
As usual, I believe the wrong question is being asked about President Biden and the botched evacuation of Afghanistan, which resulted in the deaths of 13 American military personnel. Published September 30, 2021
The COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on our children
This week Pfizer submitted initial data from the late-stage trial of their COVID-19 vaccine in children aged 5 to 12 to the U.S. FDA, raising expectations the shot will be available to our children as soon as Halloween. Published September 30, 2021
Why left is rushing to spend our money
Why do Democrats really want to spend $3.5 billion (some learned folk argue that is actually closer to $5.5 billion) at a time when we have an existing national debt of almost $29 trillion? Because today's interest rates are extremely low. Published September 29, 2021
Left’s Jew hating goes unchecked
Our polity is in turmoil, with little patience on either the red or blue side for amicable discussion of differences ("The Squad loves dead Jews: Support for Hamas implies nothing less," Web, Sept. 28). Misinformation is rife and celebrated when even mature voices defer to the clarion call of a partisan victory. Present-day politics has dumbed down our discourse, often leaving a foul residue of ancient prejudice front and center for a new generation of American voters ignorant of history. They wallow in the mephitic milieu, echoing legislators and academicians of like mind. Published September 29, 2021
On our way to dictatorship
The last guy in the White House didn't stand for failure or incompetence from those working for him. You got the orders and you produced effectively -- or you were out. That's called accountability. Published September 29, 2021
Once hailed, New York’s COVID-19 saviors are now hounded
New York is trashing its coronavirus saviors, the health care professionals who stood in the breach to defend the lives of their fellow citizens against the deadly pandemic. Published September 29, 2021
