What about left’s Russia lies?
The latest Durham indictment reveals clearly for all to see that every bit of the so-called Russian dossier were lies, manufactured to intentionally inflict damage upon candidate Trump, illegally interfere with a federal election and oust him once he became president ("Durham wins over toughest critic with revelations of Dem scheme behind Trump-Russia probe," Web, Nov. 8). It’s the wokeness, stupid
At last there is a voice of common sense coming from the left, as Democratic political consultant James Carville -- husband of Republican political consultant Mary Matalin -- recently commented that wokeness is a national problem for Democrats ("The Democratic Party's image weakens," Web, Nov. 4). And Carville is humorously correct in saying that the Democratic party needs a woke detox center. Unfortunately, those like "AOC," who are deeply invested in woke culture, cannot see that it is a genuine deterrent to voters. Published November 8, 2021
Government hardly doing its job
When are people going to wise up to the fact that our government has become little more than a criminal money-laundering organization? Billions and billions disappear each year from more programs than any one person could imagine. Is life getting better for Americans? Published November 8, 2021
What’s age got to do with it?
Is the human life cycle a continuum with stages that have no clear dividing points? It certainly appears to be. From the moment we're conceived, the process of development evolves and keeps evolving until interrupted by death. There is a clear mile post from the mother's perspective when birth occurs. However, for the developing human, birth merely involves moving into a different environment. Published November 7, 2021
Beware placing politics above God
If one can trust what Joe Biden shared about his recent time with the Pope, you would think the two agreed that the most important threat to human life is climate change, and that the matters of abortion, supporting the nuclear family and murder in the streets of America never came up at all. With Biden supporting the lies of the Obama administration and his own long list of mistruths, I can hardly believe anything he says. Published November 7, 2021
Government by decree no friend to people
The U.S. is at a monumental crossroads that will most likely determine whether we remain a constitutional republic or become a socialist state. Unfortunately the prevailing winds are pushing us toward the latter. Published November 7, 2021
Incompetent or scheming?
Biden is either the most incompetent, politically tone-deaf president in history or he is part of a diabiolical strategy to finish what Obama started: to fundamentally transform America. The crisis at the border; breathing new life into the Taliban while arming them; inflation; shortages COVID-19 insanity; and weaponizing the Department of Justice to go after parents who oppose using racism as a teaching tool. It's all madness. And now Biden wants to turn illegal immigrant families separated at the border into lottery winners, with cash awards that will exceed what a Gold Star family receives for losing a loved one killed in battle. The perils of blind allegiance
Why do the vast majority of Democratic voters continue to support President Biden? The majority of conservatives would have recoiled from President Trump and abandoned their famed political leader if he had caused similar crises. Published November 4, 2021
A fetus is a human, period
Abortion tears at the social fabric of our society like no other issue, and it requires proponents to avert their gaze from the obvious ("Supreme Court takes up Texas law banning most abortions," Web, Nov. 1). For instance, prenatal development is a continuum with no clear, defining feature distinguishing embryo from fetus other than a human-made definitional one. Published November 4, 2021
Corporate cash isn’t bottomless, Joe
All corporate profits in America in 2020 totaled $2.24 trillion. Biden's first spending plan will end up being around $2 trillion. This will be followed by more spending of approximately $5 trillion. And Biden says big corporations are going to pay for it. Published November 3, 2021
A nation is a terrible thing to waste
Right now I can't even imagine what America will look like the next 36 weeks, much less 36 months -- but rest assured the next presidential election will come, and when it does I hope we'll still have something resembling a Constitution. Published November 3, 2021
Add defense for effective deterrence
Joseph De Trani should be applauded for warning about the risks of a new nuclear arms race ("Nuclear arms race,"Web, Oct. 26), but his suggestions for averting such a situation are unrealistic. Published November 3, 2021
NYC will regret mandate
We are not a one-size-fits-all world. By imposing vaccine mandates on city workers, New York is simply cutting off their nose to spite their face ("NYC braces for fewer cops, more trash as vax deadline looms," Web, Oct. 29). Published November 2, 2021
Not in our best interests
President Biden met with world leaders at the G20 summit. Surely, among other topics of discussion, was a plan to require the entire world to be vaccinated against COVID-19. This despite that fact that there is much resistance to such a mandate. Published November 2, 2021
Facebook’s rebranding blunder
So the marketing whiz Mark Zuckerberg has changed the name of his company Facebook to Meta. Unfortunately "meta" means "dead" in Hebrew. Good luck with that and let's hope it's not prophetic. Published November 2, 2021
Kudos to patriotic pilot
Nothing would instill a greater sense of security in me than having the pilot on a flight I am taking let me know he is unhappy having a senile president who is owned by China and undertaking the utter destruction of our economy, freedoms and border security ("Southwest launches probe into pilot who allegedly said 'Let's go, Brandon,'" Web, Oct. 31). LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Time to consider parting ways
There is no better argument for American Catholics to break away from the Roman Catholic Church and establish an American Catholic Church than the recent tacky and tawdry visit of closet communist and pathological criminal Joe Biden with Pope Francis at the Vatican. Published November 1, 2021
Tough but likely effective
Another caravan of thousands of illegals is currently headed to the Texas border. Gov. Abbott has begun to implement border-protection measures to deal with this impending onslaught. But there are two other effective defensive methodologies that could be considered for review. Published November 1, 2021
Warp Speed shutdown cost lives
In the turmoil of the Biden administration, a very important point is being buried and must be raised. Trump's Operation Warp Speed was only partially about the vaccines -- even though they are what received all the attention. Published October 31, 2021
Democrats’ division in the spotlight
The division in the Democratic Party is a good sign. Consider how radical you have to be to alienate so much of your own party. Yet these new radicals are a different species of liberal. Published October 31, 2021
