IPCC still at the climate shenanigans
For over 30 years, since the first Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Assessment Report (AR1), we have been told that global warming will plunge the world into mega-famines, mega-droughts, climate terrorism and even nuclear war. The same breathless hysteria is found in the latest report, AR6. Published October 31, 2021
LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Don’t be fooled again by McAuliffe
In that now-famous debate segment, Terry McAuliffe insisted that parents have no role in their children's education. He doubled down on this sentiment in a later interview. Published October 28, 2021
‘Settlements’ are part of Israel

Help turn New York red
If I were a political strategist for the New York Republican Party, I'd be waiting in the tall grass ready to pounce. Published October 28, 2021
Where are all the white supremacists?
While appearing on Tucker Carlson Today, author David Horowitz asked an extremely cogent question, which frankly amazed me. He asked whether American businesses would spend a fortune on T.V. advertisements (75% of which feature Black actors) if they thought the white viewing audience was substantially made up of white supremacists. Biden deliberately puts citizens at risk
If American citizens must endure vaccine testing and mandates, masks, social distancing and proof of vaccination in order to safeguard their own health and the health of others before being allowed travel and go to work, school and restaurants, why don't the hundreds of thousands of foreigners allowed to freely trespass over our southern border have to do so, too? Don’t let Biden ‘cult’ destroy U.S.
The current administration is essentially laughing at the American people for thinking they elected Joe Biden. And the laughter would be warranted, too, if Biden had really won the election -- but he didn't, so the joke's on them. Non-existent voters elected Joe. Published October 27, 2021
Don’t let Hollywood think for you
Politically motivated personality attacks, ads and other hyper-publicized hot-button issues constantly distract us from confronting our government's crippling trade and economic policy. Our federal government operates against our domestic manufacturers and allows unfair advantages to foreign "partners." Where we were once the free world's arsenal and the richest country on the planet, we are now the largest debtor nation. Today we tolerate shortages of essential items while our adversaries flourish from our patronage and free technology. Published October 26, 2021
Making lives worse since January
Among President Biden's most famous quotes is this one: "If you do politics the right way, I believe, you can actually make people's lives better. And integrity is the minimum ante to get into the game." Published October 26, 2021
Nice timing, Nancy
The 2020 presidential election was won through massive voting fraud. Then there was a largely peaceful protest in Washington by Trump supporters on Jan. 6, 2021. On this day members of Congress met for the vote of the Electoral College for president. Republicans were going to appeal to this body due to the obvious, evidence-backed fraud. Founders didn’t envision this
Everett Piper's assertion that "our Constitution" reflects the completeness of our Foundaing Fathers' thinking because it shows "[t]hey anticipated issues of their day" reflects his own view though rose-colored glasses ("Captain Biden needs to look at a cultural map," Web, Oct. 24). Profit over people?
How greedy can Pfizer and Anthony Fauci get? They have killed young children with the COVID-19 vaccine despite there being very few reported deaths of young children from OVID-19. Seeing as we absolutely know that COVID-19 deaths are overreported and vaccine deaths are not, what sane parent would risk their child's life with an under-tested vaccine? The risk of a child dying from COVID-19 is especially low when the doctors give early treatment of ivermectin and/or hydroxychloroquine. Published October 25, 2021
On health, no one to trust
Biden is held up as an example of someone who is slim, and therefore in good health, but I wouldn't bet on it ("Pounding the public over COVID-19," Web, Oct. 24). Have doctors checked the level of fat in his liver? He has a history of vascular disease, which is common for type 2 diabetics, especially if they have a sweet tooth. Biden certainly demonstrates an affinity for sweets, something also common in elderly dementia patients. Published October 25, 2021
Why not map using common sense?
So Virginia's new bipartisan redistricting committee is giving up on its mapping effort because the two political parties couldn't agree on a "fair" political apportionment ("New redistricting committee all but gives up map effort," Metro, Oct. 22). Well, duh. Published October 24, 2021
Somehow, it’s Trump’s fault
Talk about chutzpah! Last Thursday night, during a CNN town hall, Joe Biden blamed the gas shortage (which has made pump prices soar) to an "OPEC producer group withholding production." Seriously? Has he forgotten that he, on his first day in office, shut down the Keystone XL Pipeline, then followed that by turning off or inhibiting U.S. oil production across the country? McAuliffe, losing, uses a tired trick
The old Democratic-playbook strategy for losing candidates tells you to get the minority-vote card out. Like Terry McAuliffe is doing, those losing should assemble what are considered high-profile African-American personalities, influencers and public officials to come to their rescue, send them into the urban areas or "the 'hood" with messages about unity and togetherness or fear tactics, such as voter rights or Jim Crow. Never, however, should these personalities mention the most important topic: legislation such as economic investment, improvements in teacher training. pay and curriculum oversight and measures to reduce criminal activity. Cost-effective way to up math scores?

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Boot Biden now
In the dead of the night at 3 a.m., acting like New York City rats scurrying about under cover of darkness, the Biden regime continues to disperse overwhelming numbers of illegals throughout the United States at will. It continues also to fly illegal immigrants into private airports via chartered flights (at taxpayer expense), in clear violation of FAA regulations against such night-time airport operations. That’s not what Trump said
The article "Trump calls Powell a RINO, hopes for similar obituaries" (Politics, Oct. 20) givess the false impression that former President Trump would hope for more deaths (i.e., obituaries) of RINOs. The actual quote from Trump is noted, readers can see he was referring to his hope that he, Trump, would get similar treatment from the media after he dies. In other words, he hopes to be treated in death as beautifully as Collin Powell has been treated. Published October 21, 2021
Global-warming goons stifle data
Climate change orthodoxy has become such a large industry that there are thousands of scientists and journalists whose livelihood depends on it. Their incomes and even their jobs are contingent upon supporting the globalist insistence that there is a climate crisis we can only address by following their prescriptions. It has become a self-fulfilling business model. Published October 20, 2021
