EDITORIAL: Sperm of American white men is eagerly pursued in Brazil

American white men are just no darn good, if you listen to the embittered ladies of the radical feminist persuasion and their enablers in the media and in certain halls of learning, but the good news is that they're apparently not good for nothing. Published March 25, 2018

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Start national lottery

There are several national lotteries internationally. The Irish government authorized the Irish Sweepstakes in 1930 to benefit hospitals. The Australian lotteries go to many social programs. The Canadian lottery does the same. Good causes across Europe benefit from EuroMillions. Published March 25, 2018

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Measure progress better

Our president is unique in many ways, most of which are unflattering. However, he has one very frightening similarity with many of the other world leaders: A hyper-emphasis on besting his counterparts. This trait has created a global culture where success is measured not by whether we are being the best humans we can be, but rather whether we are doing better than other nations. This system of measurement would work if the leading nation were a perfect utopia, but I think we can all agree that type of country doesn't exist in this world. Published March 25, 2018

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Women’s March anti-Semitic

The Women's March movement should be condemned for failing to immediately oust and sever ties with three of its most prominent leaders — Tamika Mallory, Carmen Perez and Linda Sarsour — who publicly supported Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan following a Feb. 25 speech in which he called Jews "Satanic" ("Women's March under fire over links to Nation of Islam's Louis Farrakhan, anti-Semitism," Web, March 7). LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: ‘Earth Hour’ waste of time

Tomorrow's "Earth Hour" is completely futile. Thinking something can be achieved with a one-hour gesture is pure hubris. The whole purpose of the exercise is to make us more environmentally aware, which is somewhat esoteric. Wouldn't it be of more benefit to actually target problems that significantly affect the lives of millions, including famine, homelessness, poverty and disease? If environmentalists believe the planet is under some dire threat from fossil-fuel emissions, why don't they keep their lights off permanently? Published March 22, 2018

EDITORIAL: The reign of the elites is crumbling in Europe, too

The natives are restless everywhere, and they're frightening the elites. The political parties of the social democrats, and even the Socialists, are crumbling all across Europe. A new version of class war is shaping a new kind of politics, and the implications are worldwide. Published March 21, 2018

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Allow retailers freedom, too

"Throwing shade on the Second Amendment" (Web, March 20) takes retail companies to task for raising the age limit for gun purchasing and "imposing their own rules on who can buy a gun." It gives the example of "service members" who could "return from combat duty in Afghanistan to find [they] cannot buy a rifle to go hunting." But is there a U.S. law requiring that retailers must sell long guns to all people under 21? There is a law restricting the sale of handguns to all people under 21. Published March 21, 2018

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Walkout amendment-protected

Why does the teacher who gave a student a failing grade on a quiz given during the National Student Walkout believe the political event undermines our Constitution — when the First Amendment grants us free speech ("Calif. teacher defends lowering student's grade for participating in 'highly divisive' walkout," (Web, March 19)? The walkout should be compared to a fight for human and civil rights, not a basketball game. This teacher has missed a valuable opportunity to teach the students a lesson on how to advocate for themselves. Published March 21, 2018

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Support Pompeo, Haspel

The news of President Trump's picks for secretary of State and director of the CIA has drawn negative responses from a few deviant Republicans and most obstructionist Democrats. These individuals cite the supposed ties to torture of nominees Mike Pompeo and Gina Haspel. Published March 20, 2018

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Infighting before representing

Very soon Congress will again begin posturing why they cannot avoid a government shutdown and/or resolve the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) matter. The top four congressional leaders (Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi, Paul Ryan and Chuck Schumer) will likely begin trash-talking each other, and some will bash our president for not solving the problem. Published March 20, 2018

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Don’t let history repeat

Count me among those who think the United States dodged a bullet in the last election. Although the Democrats and their enablers tried to execute a felonious strategy quite literally out of the Nazi playbook, they failed — this time. We can thank Donald J. Trump, our duly elected president, for this brief opportunity to reverse our nation's decline, but we must act while we still can. Published March 20, 2018

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Hurting states to spite Trump

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, and Sen. Chuck Schumer, New York Democrat, have made a big mistake. As the Democratic leaders of the House and Senate they encouraged "resistance" to the Republicans, especially the Republicans in the Trump administration. That has meant only opposition -- no compromise or negotiation. The result is shown in the new tax laws, which had no Democratic input or support. Published March 19, 2018

EDITORIAL: An economy humming again is frightening only to the blind

Bad news is bad, and sometimes good news is bad, too. This is the view of certain economists who are suddenly frightened by record low unemployment and bigger paychecks. As a famous make-believe king of Siam was fond of saying to Anna about something he didn't understand, "It is a puzzlement." Published March 19, 2018

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Sessions, keep investigating

The justified firing of seditious former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe has brought the rats out of hiding and into the light of day (" 'Lack of candor': Reason for firing McCabe one of most serious in FBI," Web, March 18). John Brennan, who abused the privacy rights of American citizens and the ever-corrupt Samantha Powers have now weighed in on the McCabe firing. Not out of a sense of honorable duty, but more than likely because they now realize their own crimes expose them to criminal prosecution. Published March 19, 2018

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Clintons here to stay

"Billary Clinton" will never stop running their shadow presidency against Donald Trump or their own party. As former co-presidents from January 1993 to January 2001 and puppet masters of every Obama-Biden appointment Hillary and Bill Clinton know full well how to assume total legal, political and fiscal control of anything and everyone in Washington and beyond. Published March 18, 2018

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Columnist not objective source

I haven't done enough research or analysis to determine whether Washington Times contributor Donald Lambro is a card-carrying "Never-Trump"-er, but my perception over time has been that when Mr. Lambro's name is on top of a column, there's bound to be some Trump-bashing below. All well and good, as the president is far from flawless and everyone can use some criticism from time to time. And Mr. Lambro certainly has proven that he can be counted on to provide this service for The Times. Published March 18, 2018

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Use tech for border wall

The president is on the right track pushing ahead with plans to build a wall to defend our border from illegal interlopers. However, he is way behind the times with his desire to physically "see through" the wall. Published March 15, 2018
