Boone scratched
Good thing I didn't give you starting lineups when they first came out nearly three hours ago, because the Nats made a switch. Aaron Boone, who was supposed to start at third base at bat fifth, was scratched with a sore left knee.
Nationals vs. Senators
Good news: The Nats are back home after a three-city, nine-game, 10-day trip through three different time zones. Bad news: They just got swept by the Minnesota Twins and blew a chance to post a winning record on the trip, settling for 4-5.
Marrero update
Just wanted to pass along a quick update on Potomac first baseman Chris Marrero: The team placed him on the disabled list this morning with a sprained right ankle, calling up Bill Rhinehart from Hagerstown to take his place, according to a press release.

Lo Duca ready; Johnson update
As expected, the Nationals will activate Paul Lo Duca off the 15-day DL tomorrow, in time for the start of a three-game series at Minnesota.
Lo Duca in LF?
With Jesus Flores taking over behind the plate, Paul Lo Duca could get some playing time both in left field and possibly at first base, while still catching some too backing up Flores.
Nats win, Flores to remain starter
For the first time in nearly a month, the Nationals have won back-to-back games and taken a series from their opponent.
DL technicality, and ump down
We've completed three innings here at Safeco Field, where the Nats lead the Mariners 1-0 behind Jesus Flores' RBI single in the first.
