Clippard to start Saturday?
The Nationals haven't formally named their starting pitcher for Saturday's game in Seattle, but all signs point to Tyler Clippard returning from Class AAA Columbus and making another fill-in start for Odalis Perez.
Dukes in lineup; Zim out 4-6 weeks
Two news items to report as the Nats prepare for tonight's game against the Pirates: 1) Elijah Dukes is back in the lineup and 2) Ryan Zimmerman returned from his doctors appointment in Cincinnati and was told he'll spend the next four to six weeks rehabbing his left shoulder, at which point a decision will be made whether or not he needs season-ending surgery.
Acta-Dukes: What happened?
By now you're probably aware of the dugout dust-up between Manny Acta and Ellijah Dukes in the ninth inning of last night's 7-6 win. It wasn't a pretty sight, and very out of character for Acta (usually the picture of patience and calm temper).
Teddy can't win on the road, either
The Racing Presidents made the trip up here to Pittsburgh to compete in a relay race against the Pirates' Perogies.
Brief rain delay
A quick rain storm just blew through PNC Park, causing the start of tonight's game to be delayed. But the tarp is currently being taken off the field and the game is expected to begin at 7:15 p.m.
