Casto thrown right into lineup
The Nats aren't wasting any time throwing Kory Casto into the lineup. He'll be starting in right field tonight against the Cardinals, batting seventh.
Bowden: Zimmerman to DL
Just got off the phone with Nats GM Jim Bowden, who said the club will place Ryan Zimmerman on the 15-day DL.
Zimmerman: Small shoulder tear
Ryan Zimmerman's MRI results are in, and the news is not necessarily good. Zimmerman has a small labral tear in his left shoulder, the result of an awkward headfirst slide into second base two weeks ago in Baltimore.

A quick tip of the cap to Willie Harris, who won last night's game with a 3-run homer off Micah Owings in the seventh inning, snapping a 3-3 tie in most surprising fashion.
Zim watch, Day 5
Ryan Zimmerman is out of the Nationals' lineup for the fifth straight game tonight, his left shoulder still not healed enough to allow him to play without some pain. And it sounds like Zim's going to miss another game tomorrow, with an eye on returning for Sunday's series finale here in Arizona.
He's not Peyton Manning (Or Eli)
No, he's Charlie Manning, and he may not be wearing a Nats uniform much longer. The rookie left-hander just served up a towering, three-run homer to Jody Gerut (Jody Gerut!) to give the Padres a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth.
No decision for Lannan
John Lannan authored yet another fine pitching performance for the Nats today -- two runs, five hits over six innings -- but emerged with no decision.

Zim still out
Ryan Zimmerman may not play at all in this series against the Padres, but it sounds like he'll be ready to return for at least part (if not all) of the weekend series in Arizona.
