LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Montgomery bends to Muslim demands

How sad for America and religious liberty that the Montgomery County, Md., school board has stripped the school calendar of the names of Christian and Jewish holidays to please a handful of Muslim protesters. Published November 13, 2014

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Supreme Court must revisit Obamacare ruling

The naked, shameless admission by a former Obama regime operative who characterized voters as "stupid" in crafting the lie to sell Obamacare is beyond disreputable, deserving repudiation and condemnation by all citizens, regardless of political affiliation. Published November 13, 2014

EDITORIAL: Jonathan Gruber’s payday

The MIT economist who is the brains behind Obamacare says he was willing to say and do whatever it took to advance the scheme, and now it's clear why. Obamacare made Mr. Gruber a multimillionaire, and at the expense of the taxpayers. Published November 13, 2014

EDITORIAL: China’s climate con is another Obama scam

Mr. Obama announced on Wednesday that he has persuaded China to join in a declaration of war against global warming, or climate change, or whatever they're calling the scam this week. Published November 12, 2014

EDITORIAL: Rosetta catches up with a comet

"It's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way." Sometimes it seems as though Mac Davis, who sang this hymn to himself in a previous century, could have written these words for the men and women who perform magic in space. Published November 12, 2014

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: U.S. should seize on Mexico deal for reforms

Financial news reports have AT&T leaping across the border to help create the potential for a greater middle class in Mexico with the purchase of Iusacell, a wireless company that has 8.6 million subscribers and a network that covers 70 percent of Mexico's population ("AT&T says it will buy Mexico's Iusacell for $1.8B," Web, Nov. 7). LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Midterms positive, but remain on guard

I'd like to say thank you to all those who supported the principles for which I stand. What a great turnout in Carroll County. We made such a difference statewide. Contested elections build voter turnout. Published November 12, 2014

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Was article juxtaposition a misstep?

I am particularly thankful for our freedom of speech. However, while The Washington Times' headlines today are each by themselves newsworthy, I am deeply concerned about the possible fallout from running two particular headlines close to one another. Published November 12, 2014

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: The one promise Obama has kept

My fellow Americans, prepare for two long years before we can expect any real change from our government. Over the past six years, we've watched the promises of hope from then-candidate Barack Obama turn into the overwhelming failures of President Obama. Published November 11, 2014

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: GOP, capitalize on midterm momentum

Republicans have every right to take a moment and bask in the glory of their congressional success on Nov. 4. However, only two truths emerged from the elections: Voters are disgusted with Democratic (Obama) policy, and at the moment Republicans are likely to win most elections, except in New York and California. Cedar City residents who say prairie dogs are overrunning parts of their town are set to argue Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 against federal regulations protecting the animals. Residents suing in federal court say the prairie dogs have done damage to the city's golf course, airport and at the cemetery, even interrupting funerals with their barking. EDITORIAL: Dogging it on the prairie

Prairie dogs, with more important things to do, don't engage in interstate commerce. That was the finding of a federal judge last week in a decision that could unravel the Endangered Species Act and restore a little respect for private property. Published November 11, 2014

Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Republican, has called President Obama's calls for a net neutrality policy "Obamacare for the Internet." Without such a policy, critics say, wealthier users alone would be able to pay for better, faster Web access. (associated press)

EDITORIAL: The ‘net neutrality’ online power grab

President Obama wants to put the Internet firmly under his control. He announced Monday that he would apply to the Internet centralized rules written for the age of the telegraph. For the Internet's own good, of course. Published November 11, 2014

FILE - In this Nov. 7, 2014 file photo, President Barack Obama meets with Congressional leaders in the Old Family Dining Room of the White House in Washington. From left are, House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio, Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nev., and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Ky. Republican leaders and President Barack Obama say the message of the midterm elections is clear: Voters want them to work together. But on what? The two parties’ voters, like their politicians, are far apart on health care, immigration and climate change, exit polls show. The voters can’t even agree on whether the economy is looking worse or getting better.(AP Photo/Evan Vucci, File)

EDITORIAL: Immigration ‘reform’ by fiat would guarantee 2 years of gridlock

Loretta Lynch, President Obama's nominee to replace Eric Holder Jr. as attorney general, has her work cut out for her. Going into confirmation hearings, the No. 1 issue for Republicans will be whether she's on board with the White House schemes to bypass Congress and implement amnesty by executive fiat. Published November 11, 2014

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Immigration system ‘broken’ by nonenforcement

President Obama defiantly says he will use executive orders to change immigration laws. The Constitution gives Congress the authority to pass laws and the president the responsibility to enforce all laws. Immigration laws have not been enforced, and that is the reason the system is "broken." Published November 10, 2014
