LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Abortion lucrative for left
In the wake of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's passing, I expect an even more violent, disruptive election in November. Right now, the Democrats are racking their brains to stop President Trump and the Republican-controlled Senate from approving Amy Coney Barrett. Published October 1, 2020
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Love it or lose it
There was a catch phrase many people used in response to the demonstrations of the '60s: "America, love it, or leave it." With everything that's happening today — the outright destruction not only of buildings, businesses, statues and monuments, but our very history and what America stands for — a similar slogan might be coined: "America, love it or lose it." LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Biden-Harris a far-left ticket
During a recent interview with CNN, Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris praised Black Lives Matter co-founders Patricia Cullors, Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi. Since it is a known fact that these women are self-professed anarchists and Marxists who are trying to overthrow the government of the United States, Harris' comments clearly show that she is a true socialist. EDITORIAL: The first Trump-Biden face-off looks back, not ahead
Leadership requires looking ahead, but the current campaign for president is giving new meaning to the Obama-era policy of "leading from behind." The coronavirus pandemic rocking the nation has obligated President Trump to act decisively while Democratic candidate Joe Biden has had only to jeer from the sidelines. Voters witnessing the initial presidential debate could only wonder whether there is more to the Biden vision for America in the 2020 election than 20/20 hindsight. Published September 30, 2020
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Where’s #MeToo on Fairfax?
Despite sexual-assault accusations, Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax, a Democrat, is now running for governor. With the recent passing and replacement-delegate nomination of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, I do wonder where #MeToo rallies have been. Published September 30, 2020
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Left owns ‘ends justify means’
In spite of moderator Chris Wallace's efforts at "moral equivalence" throughout the first 2020 presidential debate, President Trump was having none of it. Mr. Wallace tried, via phony questions about Charlottesville and BLM/Antifa, to get Mr. Trump to "unequivocally" condemn "white supremecy" (with the purpose of giving the Democrats their talking points that "both sides" are responsible for the violence in Democrat-run cities) — but Mr. Trump refused to take the bait. LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Durham should reveal names
President Trump's enemies damaged his reputation using false claims of collusion with Russia, and they did so before the 2018 election that helped flip the House from Republican to Democratic. The new House became non-stop hostile to our president. Published September 30, 2020
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Vote for Biden is vote for Harris
Earlier this year I wrote to a friend of many years that Joe Biden will rue the day he got into the presidential race. I believe my prediction will come to pass either during the campaign or right after the election. Regardless, Joe Biden and his low-life son, Hunter Biden, may have committed felonies with their Russia and Ukraine shenanigans and influence peddling during the elder Biden's tenure as vice president. At the very least, Joe Biden abused his high office in cahoots with his son while he was vice president. Some candidate for president, huh? Published September 29, 2020
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Barrett a solid pick for court
Amy Coney Barrett is an asset to the legal profession, and should be swiftly confirmed to the Supreme Court. At this crucial time in our nation's history, no high court seat should sit vacant longer than is needed to nominate and confirm a new justice. Published September 29, 2020
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: BLM, antifa ‘democratic’?
On the same day it was announced that former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg would pay off $16 million in outstanding fines and fees so that 32,000 convicted felons could have the opportunity to vote in Florida, former President Barack Obama urged people to vote because "our democracy is at stake." EDITORIAL: The real lesson of Donald Trump’s tax returns
Recently, conservative author and pundit Ann Coulter playfully tweeted that "There's going to be a new fun revelation about @realDonaldTrump every day, from now until election day, like an Advent calendar." Published September 29, 2020
EDITORIAL: Voter fraud and the mail-in method
Presidential elections are typically nerve-wracking affairs, and the usual advice for nail-biters is to trust the system. But maybe not this time. Considering the depths of deceit plumbed by Donald Trump's adversaries who have attempted unsuccessfully to upend his presidency, there is reason to suspect underhanded efforts are afoot to thwart his re-election. Law-abiding voters should keep a sharp eye on the electoral process to ensure that both the Republican president -- and his Democratic opponent Joe Biden receive every legitimate ballot, and not one more. LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Don’t allow fundamental changes
Our Founders intended that we struggle in a game of power balance in our political structure. Any actions that would promote the undermining of the tension and power balance would weaken our government and its structural balance. Nevertheless we find the Democrats routinely attempting to find ways to capture more power by artificially destroying the balance of power that has been inculcated into our system. LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Officials ignore voting problems
With about six weeks remaining before a presidential election, we have seen examples of completed early ballots found on the roadside and several examples of voting lists being inaccurate (voters who have moved, died, etc.). We have 535 national officials and probably thousands of state and local officials aware of this, yet we continue to forge ahead toward a preventable disaster. Published September 28, 2020
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: What about Biden’s Catholicism?
Liberal politicians claim that they have long loathed the legacy of America's Pilgrim fathers, but with their condemnation of the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, they have nonetheless embraced the Pilgrims' repressive puritan no-'popery' attitude. Published September 28, 2020
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: BLM’s magician’s tricks
Why do we never see Black Lives Matter "protest" over the rise of Black-on-Black crime in Democrat-run cities? Why are they supported by the Democratic Party even though they encourage and are involved in riots, not peaceful protests? Why is it OK for BLM rioters to bring bricks, poles and guns to their 'protests,' but not OK for the police to respond to shots fired at them? Why is it that BLM and the Democrats never talk about the responsibility of citizens of all races to respond to the requests of police officers with respect? Published September 27, 2020
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Vote for sound policy
On Nov. 3, we the people get to decide the future of our nation. Not since 1864 has the presidential election been so consequential to our republic, nor the choice so diametrically binary. Published September 27, 2020
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: ‘Palestine’ as Arab is fiction
There was never a Palestine prior to the British Mandate for Palestine, established by the San Remo Agreement (1920) and confirmed by the League of Nations (1922) as a homeland for Jews. Only Jews were referred to, and called themselves, Palestinians. The Arabs identified as being from where their families originated ("After Abraham Accords, time to look at Palestinian-Israeli conflict with fresh eyes," Web, Sept. 22). Published September 27, 2020
EDITORIAL: What to watch for in the first presidential debate
On Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020, Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic will play host to the first 2020 presidential debates. Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace will moderate. Published September 27, 2020
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Virus deaths higher in ‘blue’ states
President Trump has claimed that COVID-19 is a disease most severely infecting Democratic-voting states and districts. I decided that had to be refuted because it just did not make sense. I used an Excel spreadsheet focusing on deaths per million by state. Published September 24, 2020
