Poll: Obama lost almost half of U.S. Jewish suport

It looks like a core group that supported President Barack Obama during his election is dropping their support for him by half. These kinds of numbers are astounding, and Democrats running for office in even safe blue districts should not necessarily be waving over the president during the campaign season to help them with their re-election campaigns, because no incumbent appears to be safe.

Healthy Choices Act driven by motives other than nutrition?

Congressman Ron Kind, Wisconsin Democrat introduced his healthy choices act this week. The bill, presented as a way to give Americans more access to healthier eating and physical activities seems relatively innocuous. The problem, however, is  some of the recent issues regarding American transportation that is tied into the anti-obesity initiative as well as the healthy choices act.

Joan Rivers critical of Obama economic policy

As mentioned in my previous post, comedienne and television celebrity Joan Rivers spoke with me about her frustration regarding airline security handling of Times Square terror suspect Faisal Shahzad, an individual who was on the no-fly list, got past airline security at the gates and made it on to a jetliner bound for Dubai. Fortunately, the pilot was notified of Shahzad's no-fly status before takeoff and Shahzad was arrested and taken into custody.

Airline security harder on Joan Rivers and Ted Kennedy but gave 'ok' to Shahzad

If those in power among the rich and famous are considered threats at our airports but actual threats are allowed on to our airplanes like the 9/11 terrorists, Shahzad, and the notorious underwear bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, then our priorities better start changing pretty quickly.  Apparently, federal government aviation officials and a good number of their employees have yet to figure that out.

Feinstein against San Francisco boycott of Arizona

Yesterday evening at the unveiling of Senate Democrats proposal for immigration reform, I asked Sen. Dianne Feinstein, California Democrat, if she supported a resolution in the city of San Francisco to boycott any company doing business in Arizona. Here is her full response.

Puerto Rico could become fifty-first state

The House passed on Thursday night the Puerto Rico Democracy Act (H.R. 2499). This would mandate the U.S. territory to vote on its status with the United States.   The bill, though, is created in favor of the island becoming the 51st state. Every eight years, a plebiscite or a ballot question on the issue of the territory’s status would be asked of Puerto Ricans living on the island and of non resident native born Puerto Ricans living in the United States to vote on. This will happen until statehood is finally achieved for Puerto Rico.
