Evidence tampering by Mexican authorities in border shooting?

Last Monday's shooting of Mexican 15-year old Sergio Hernandez on the southern border by a U.S. Border Patrol Agent in El Paso follows the death of an illegal alien, who resisted arrest by authorities and was tasered. Both events have caused further consternation for law enforcement officers involved in handling illegal immigrants. However, the incident in El Paso has sparked questions as to whether Mexican authorities tampered with evidence following the shooting. Mexican authorities told the Associated Press one version of the incident on June 9. However, on June 11 Mexican officials told the AP a very different story.

The BP oil spill continues to deluge the gulf coast regions of the United States, and the Obama administration is feeling heat from those he could usually count on to stand by him. Democratic strategist James Carville railed at the president for being slow on getting the government involved and nightly conservative basher MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann appeared disappointed with the White House’s lack of action. A few days before the recent Congressional recess, I spoke with Congressman Charles Rangel, New York Democrat, who seemed frustrated that the administration had not dealt with the oil companies before the spill.

Government grows, economy slows

No surprise there, as this Administration is all about creating government jobs, even if it harms private sector job growth. In fact, for the sixteen million unemployed Americans, the federal government is often the only one hiring. In contrast to growing government, the private sector has been relatively stagnant in creating new jobs. The Gallup job creation index for April shows a 2 to 1 lead in federal government hiring over the private market.

Helen Thomas dropped by agency

Politico is reporting the agency that represents Helen Thomas, Nine Speakers, has dropped the longtime White House journalist from their client list as a result of her comments made about Jewish people and the Middle East.
