Redding deal dead for now
Got word a little while ago that the proposed Tim-Redding-to-Colorado deal fell apart, at least in its current form.

The Nationals have hired John Philbin (no relation to Regis, as far as I know) as their new strength and conditioning coach and Elizabeth Wheeler as physical therapist.

We just got the Nationals' 2009 spring training schedule. The basics? It's longer in both time (33 games in 37 days) and distance (the closest road game from the team's complex in Viera, Fla., is a 70-minute trip) than in previous years.

Harrisburg staff set
The Nationals just announced their field staff at Class AA Harrisburg for next season--things are mostly the same as last year, except for the addition of pitching coach Randy Tomlin.
