It is constructed to be extremely modular, including barrel change to switch between calibers. This family of rifles consist of two main types. The SCAR-L, for "light", is chambered in the 5.56×45mm NATO cartridge and the SCAR-H, for "heavy", fires 7.62×51mm NATO. DS ARMS SA58 MINI OSW is built with a lightweight aluminum lower receiver and features either an 11- or 13-inch barrel with a three-prong Trident flash suppressor with a folding Para stock and a dual aperture rear sight.
