In this Monday, Jan. 27, 2014 photo, Tanveer Mirza stands in the FAITH Social Services offices in Herndon, Va. Mirza emigrated from Pakistan 37 years earlier. In 1999 her mosque started this effort to assist refugees from the civil war in Bosnia who were being resettled in Northern Virginia. They soon realized that, even amid relative wealth, there were many who needed assistance, including many non-Muslims.
