The XM2010 was designed and developed specifically for the sustained harsh environment of the modern battlefield using state-of-the-art technology, manufacturing processes, and corrosion resistant materials. As an upgrade to the combat proven M24 Sniper Weapon System, the XM2010 is chambered in 300 Win Mag for extended effective range using the M24 700 action, and has proven out-of-the-box 1 MOA accuracy. The XM2010 features the new Remington Arms Chassis System (RACS) with a folding stock that allows for adjustment of the length of pull and cheek height and captures the bolt handle when folded. This allows the operator to configure his weapon to his personal physical requirements and transport the system more easily. Additional chassis features include a monolithic rail with removable rail pieces and cable routing guides that maximize rail insert space, co-align electroptics, and manage electric cables. Finally, the XM2010 features such end user driven enhancements as a 5-round detachable box magazine that allows the operator to quickly reload the weapon, a Leupold long range variable powered optic, and the Advanced Armament Corp TiTan quick detach sound suppressor.

The TASER Shockwave system is the first and only Electronic Control Device designed for area denial. Originally designed for the US Service member in order to combat the threat of suicide bombers, the TASER Shockwave allowed the operator to remain out of the environment of these threats." A single unit launches six TASER cartridges. Each cartridge fires two probes at different angles, It provides a barrage fire, area saturation capability. The Shockwave system is scalable and versatile allowing the operator to custom build fields of coverage. TASER Shockwave devices may be linked laterally, stacked vertically, daisy chained or any combination of these in order to provide the desired coverage. A single Shockwave device sends a 25 foot spread across a 20 degree arc. However, they can be horizontally stacked to provide up to 180 degrees of coverage. They can also be vertical stacked three units high, launching 36 fully-charged TASER darts. The Shockwave is fired from a handheld remote device that includes a trigger button, a safety switch, indicator lights and a "re-energizer" button which can recharge the launched probes multiple times.

The Modular Advanced Armed Robotic System (MAARS) is a robot that is being developed by Qinetiq. A member of the TALON family, it will be the successor to the armed SWORDS robot. It has a different, larger chassis than the SWORDS robot, so has little physically in common with the SWORDS and TALON robots. The MAARS platform was designed for reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition (RSTA) to increase security at forward locations. It can be configured for non-lethal, less-lethal, and lethal effects. The system weighs 369 lb fully loaded with sensors, weapons, and ammunition. Its battery can last 312 hours, with a sleep mode to last for up to one week. The MAARS can move at 7 mph and travel 8001000 meters from its controller. It has a seven cameras for driving, situational awareness, and for the weapon that can operate in daytime or thermal modes. MAARS is armed with an M240B machine gun and four M203 grenade launcher tubes on a 360 degree rotating turret. It carries 450 rounds of machine gun ammo and four grenade rounds. Grenades can include sponge, buckshot, and tear gas for less-lethal purposes, and explosive and airburst for lethal purposes. Each tube is loaded individually, allowing lethal and less-lethal capabilities to be available and selected when needed. Other features include an on-board loudspeaker to communicate, a siren, a laser dazzler, and a gunfire detection system. The weapons system can be replaced with a manipulator arm that can lift 120 lbs., making it able to pick up 155 mm artillery rounds, and can pull over 300 lbs.

The Black Knight is a prototype unmanned ground combat vehicle designed by BAE Systems. It weighs approximately 12 tons and is deployable from a C-130; thus, the Black Knight can be airlifted by military transport aircraft. Similar in appearance to a tank, it is armed with a turret-mounted 30 mm gun and a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun. The vehicle is fitted with a 300-horsepower Caterpillar Corporation diesel engine. The vehicle is currently being evaluated by the US Army. It is a proof of concept for military unmanned vehicles, specifically as a combat asset.

Adaptiv is an active camouflage technology developed by BAE Systems AB to protect military vehicles from detection by near infrared night vision devices. It consists of an array of hexagonal Peltier plates which can be rapidly heated and cooled to form any desired image, such as of the natural background or of a non-target object. In 2011, BAE Systems announced their Adaptiv infrared military camouflage technology, likening it to "a thermal TV screen". It uses about 1000 hexagonal panels to cover the sides of an armoured vehicle such as a tank or personnel carrier. Infrared cameras continuously gather thermal images of the vehicle's surroundings. The Peltier plate panels are rapidly heated and cooled to match either the temperature of the background, such as a forest, or one of the objects in the thermal cloaking system's "library" such as a truck, car or large rock. The system is able to gather and display thermal images while the vehicle is moving. The result is to "cloak" the vehicle from detection by heat-detecting night vision devices (thermographic camera systems). For crypsis, the panels can display an infrared image of the vehicle's background; this can be updated as the vehicle moves. For mimesis, an image of a chosen object, such as a car, can be retrieved from Adaptiv's library and superimposed on the background. The illustration shows Adaptiv mimicking a four wheel drive car, using part of the panel, while the rest of the panel is cryptic, imitating the natural background. The technology is said to reduce the range at which a vehicle would be detected to less than 500 metres. The panels forming Adaptiv's pixels are hexagons approximately 5.5 inches (14 cm) wide. They are robust, contributing to the armour of the vehicle that carries them. The system allows its operator to "grab" a thermal image from a vehicle or other object for display. The Active Denial System (ADS) is a non-lethal, directed-energy weapon developed by the U.S. military, designed for area denial, perimeter security and crowd control. Informally, the weapon is also called the heat ray since it works by heating the surface of targets, such as the skin of targeted human subjects. Raytheon is currently marketing a reduced-range version of this technology. The ADS was deployed in 2010 with the United States military in the Afghanistan War, but was withdrawn without seeing combat. On August 20, 2010, theLos Angeles Sheriff's Department announced its intent to use this technology on prisoners in the Pitchess Detention Center in Los Angeles, stating its intent to use it in "operational evaluation" in situations such as breaking up prisoner fights. The ADS is currently only a vehicle-mounted weapon, though U.S. Marines and police are both working on portable versions. ADS was developed under the sponsorship of the DoD Non-Lethal Weapons Program with the Air Force Research Laboratory as the lead agency. There are reports that Russia and China are developing their own versions of the Active Denial System.
