In a letter to Pope Francis, Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif., is among the conservative signatories and professors who say marriage appears threatened in the contemporary world. The Synod of Bishops is scheduled to meet on family and marriage issues from Oct. 5-19 at the Vatican.
