A Night at the Smithsonian - Ever wish you could have a night like Ben Stiller's “Night at the Museum”? The Smithsonian offers kids ages 8-12 and their chaperones a chance to sleepover either at the National Museum of American History or the National Museum of Natural History to see the exhibits and watch a movie. Six Flags America - Come visit one of the Washington/Baltimore area's biggest attractions with roller coasters and Water Park rides that everyone can enjoy. Wheaton Regional Park - This isn't any average day in the park. Take a 10 mile trip out of the busy city to have a fun day at Wheaton Regional Park in Wheaton, Maryland. The kids can take a ride on a mini replica of an 1863 train, ride the carousel, go fishing, play on the playground and have a picnic. Tickets are $2 each and are good for one ride on either the train or the carousel. There are also hiking trails, an ice rink, tennis courts, baseball fields and basketball courts for the kids that love sports. Hampton Park (Charleston, SC) - Hampton Park is located on the peninsular Charleston, South Carolina, and remains the largest park on the peninsula. Historically, Hampton Park began as a plantation, and had stints over the years as a race course and cemetery. The park is recognized for its beautiful sights, and is also popular for runners, joggers, and cyclists, who use the one-mile perimeter road for exercise.

De Leon Springs State Park (DeLeon Springs, FL) - This park covers 611 acres of land and is built around a natural sulfur spring. It is known for its wildlife such as alligators, white-tailed deer, turtles, and otters. It is historically known for being owned by local Native American tribes, and eventually being taken by Spanish forces. Some recreational activities include swimming, canoeing, kayaking and fishing.

Lake Park (Milwaukee, WI) - Lake Park is an urban park located on Lake Michigan and covers approximately 138 acres. Even with its small size, it's lakefront amenities are breathtaking, such as the Milwaukee Art Museum, McKinley Marina, and Bradford Beach. The park was designed in the Romantic tradition, with its natural landscaping and winding paths.

Zilker Metropolitan Park (Austin, TX) - Zilker Park is a metropolitan park in the heart of Austin, TX, made up of 350 acres of land. It is noted for hosting the Austin City Limits Music Festival and crowds of up to 42,000 people. Some of it's main attractions are the Barton Springs Pool, Zilker Botanical Garden, and its numerous soccer and volleyball fields- not to mention it has a polo field.

Encanto Park (Phoenix, AZ) - Encanto Park is a public park in central Phoenix, composed of 222 acres of land. It consists of picnic areas, a lagoon, a boat house, swimming pool, nature trail, amusement park, fishing and two golf courses. Enchanted Island is one of the most notable attractions of Encanto Park. Encanto has been designated as a Phoenix Point of Pride.

West Potomac Park (Washington, D.C.) - The West Potomac Park is a U.S. National park in Washington, D.C. It includes the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, which extends from the Lincoln Memorial to the grounds of the Washington Monument. The park is the site of many national landmarks, including the Korean War Veterans Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial. One of the main attractions are the famous sakura (Japanese cherry trees), where the National Cherry Blossom Festival is held every spring.

Cal Anderson Park (Seattle, WA) - Cal Anderson Park is a public park located on Seattle, Washington's Capitol Hill. It is known for it's inclusion of the Lincoln Reservoir and Bobby Morris Playfield. One of its most popular attractions is towards the north end of the park, where a large mountain-shaped water fountain feeds a shallow texture pool, wading pool, and a reflecting pool.

Fairmount Park (Philadelphia, PA) - Fairmount Park is located in Philadelphia and occupies nearly half the entire park population in the city at approximately 4,100 acres. It is comprised of three areas known as “South Park”, “Old Park”, and “West Park”. These sections of the park contain attractions such as the Philadelphia Zoo, Schuylkill River Trail, Fairmount Water Works and the Centennial Exposition grounds.

Audubon Park (New Orleans, LA) - Audubon Park is a city park located in the Uptown neighborhoods of New Orleans. It is bordered by the Mississippi River and St. Charles Avenue, directly across from Loyola University and Tulane University. Originally a plantation, this park was purchased by the city in 1871. It is known for accompanying the Audubon Zoo and the Audubon golf course that opened in 1898.

Central Park (Manhattan, NY) - Central Park is an urban park located in the central part of the borough of Manhattan, New York City. It was expanded from 778 acres to 843 acres in 1873, and was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1962. Some of the parks main attractions are the art and sculptures, including Cleopatra's Needle, The Gates and Strawberry Fields. The Boathouse Cafe, Victorian Gardens, and carriage horses throughout the park are some of the most popular leisure attractions.
