A tour bus owned by a British Columbia company crashed Sunday in Oregon at a spot called Deadman Pass, at the top of a steep, seven-mile descent from the Blue Mountains. Of the 46 people believed to be onboard, nine died and the rest were hospitalized. Survivors said some passengers were thrown from the bus through broken windows as the vehicle skidded out of control and smashed through a guardrail. (Associated Press)
