The College of Built Environments (CBE) at the University of Washington in Seattle is the new name, as of January 1, 2009, of the college formerly called the College of Architecture and Urban Planning. The old name was adopted in 1957-58 when the college had only two departments, architecture and planning. Today, however, the College of Built Environments is made up of four Departments, Architecture, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design & Planning, and houses two interdisciplinary Ph.D. degrees, as well as several interdisciplinary centers and institutes. The new name reflects the integrated approach to planning, design and construction that will be necessary to take on the 21st century global challenges of urbanization and climate change. - Source: Wikipedia
