EMBARGO UNTIL 5 PM, APRIL 2, 2014- In this photo taken on May 28, 2013, and released available by Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, Fla., shows a scientist placing nose plugs on a blacktip shark. Scientists at the University of South Florida, Mote Marine Laboratory and Boston University are trying to better understand how sharks use all of their senses when hunting for prey. In a study released Wednesday, April 2, 2014, the researchers used eye coverings, nose plugs to block smell, and insulating materials to cover the electrosensory pores on their snouts. They took high-speed video of the impaired sharks and found that when a shark's sense is blocked, some can adapt in order to still find and kill their prey.
