Natalie McGill looks over a group of pigs, she and her husband Stewart Lundy use to naturally manage their Perennial Roots Farm in Accomac, Va on April 23, 2015. The husband and wife are biodynamic farmers. The growing movement goes a step beyond organic farming. Like its organic cousins, biodynamic farms eschew genetically modified plants and synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. But they differ by incorporating mysticism and an underlying philosophy that views all components of the farm as a single, living organism. (Jay Diem/The Daily Times via AP) NO SALES

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's former Deputy Chief of Staff Bridget Anne Kelly and her attorney Michael Critchley, right, arrive for a news conference, Friday, May 1, 2015, in Livingston, N.J. Earlier Friday, federal prosecutors brought charges against three former allies of Gov. Chris Christie, but not Christie himself, in the George Washington Bridge traffic scandal, easing the legal threat that has hung over his 2016 White House ambitions for more than a year. One of those charged, David Wildstein, a former high-ranking official at the transportation agency that operates the bridge, pleaded guilty and accused the two other defendants, Kelly and Bill Baroni, who was the governor's top appointee at the Port Authority, of joining him in a politically motivated scheme to create huge traffic jams. Kelly and Baroni were charged in an indictment unsealed later Friday. (AP Photo/Mel Evans)

Louisiana Bayou - Alligator - Louisiana has the largest population of alligators in the United States. The "beast of the bayou" is a top predator and a trophy worthy of any big game hunter. After having been on the endangered species list in the 1970s, alligator populations made a huge comeback. Trophy hunts generally range from 8-12 feet, but can be up to 14 feet or more. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries issues harvest tags for property containing sufficient alligator habitat capable of sustaining an alligator harvest. Alligator hunters apply for alligator tags prior to the season. Non-residents can only harvest alligators as an alligator sport hunter while accompanied by a guide. 2015 Louisiana Alligator Season is from August 26th to September 19th.

Wyoming – Gray Wolf (maybe sometime soon) - Wolf hunting remains controversial and Wyoming's gray wolf hunt was suspended in December after a federal judge restored endangered species protections, blocking local control efforts. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service reported that a minimum of 1,783 wolves in more than 300 packs roamed the six-state region at the end of last year. U.S. Rep. Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyoming, has since co-sponsored legislation to overrule the judge’s decision and return jurisdiction of wolves to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. GovTrack.us gives the bill a 4% chance of passing.

Piney Woods, East Texas - Wild Boar - Sometimes called the "East Texas Grizzly," the elusive wild boar is often found in the rolling hills of East Texas and the Piney Woods. Prized by hunters and despised by landowners, Texas has about half of the nation's population of feral hogs. They are found near rivers, creeks, marshes and bogs; and like to find dense vegetation to conceal and protect them. Look for guided and semi-guided hunts throughout Texas. Feral hogs are considered free-ranging exotic animals and may be taken at any time of the year by any legal means. With proper permits, aerial hunting is also allowed.

Nevada – Mule Deer - Nevada offers some of the finest mule deer hunting in the nation. The mule deer population is on the rebound along with the chance to harvest a trophy buck. Nevada is 87% public lands, so access to big game animals is never a problem, but ranges can be rugged, with peaks rising above 10,000 feet. Mule deer populations occur on lands managed by the United States Forest Service (Spring Range), the Bureau of Land Management (Spring Range, McCullough Range, Highland Range, Bird Spring Range and Newberry Mountains) and to a limited extent, the National Park Service (Newberry Mountains).

Oregon’s high desert – Bighorn Sheep - Bighorn sheep are one of the rarest game mammals and thought to be one of the most expensive game of all. Oregon’s bighorn sheep hunts are a once in a life time tag. The odds of drawing are very slim, with some applying year after year with no luck. Guides often use horses and mules to get you in and out of the rough sheep country and hunters need to be in decent physical condition. River area hunts also offer transportation by raft. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife captured and relocated California bighorn sheep at several locations in 2014 to improve genetic diversity among herds. The population of bighorn sheep has grown to an estimated 3,500-3,700 as a result of ODFW’s aggressive restoration efforts.

Northern Maine - Moose - Maine has one of the largest Moose populations in the lower 48 states, providing a wonderful opportunity to bag a once in a lifetime trophy bull. From Maine.gov: According to state wildlife biologists, In 2014 Maine's moose population is estimated at 60-70,000. For the 2014 season, the "traditional" Wildlife Management Districts further in the north had an overall success rate of 67%. Moose may be hunted with rifle, shotgun, handgun, muzzleloader, bow and arrow or crossbow. Because of the ever increasing population, Maine has increased the season to three weeks: The last week of September, the second week of October and the first week of November.

Western Alaska’s GMU19 - Caribou - Usually found in the remote tundra of western Alaska, caribou are majestic wanderers on whatever range they are found. Subsistence hunting may take place year-round, however the sport season usually begins in August and ends at the end of September. The heart of caribou range in August and September is "Game Management Unit" #19. GMU19 contains the Big River Herd and scattered herds located between the Mulchatna River in the south, to the North Fork of the Kuskokwim River in the north. Most hunters see from 20 to 500 caribou per day and it's not uncommon to see impressive herds of several thousand, no matter where you hunt. Guided and unguided hunts are available.

Denali Preserve, Alaska – Grizzly Bear - Alaska has an estimated 30,000 brown bears statewide. Grizzlies generally live in high country above timberline where they dig for roots and ground squirrels, eat berries, and actively hunt caribou and other wildlife. Bear hunting seasons are held in both spring and fall in some areas but only in fall in other areas. Custom guides offer hunting in and around the Denali Preserve, which is an extension of Denali National Park. Hunting in the preserve is allowed, hunting in the park is not. Nonresident brown bear hunters are required to have a guide or be accompanied by an Alaska resident who is a relative.
