Collins was shot by Powell County sheriff's deputy last Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, after deputy officers and witnesses said Collins drove on the wrong way on the interstate, ran a vehicle off the road, rammed a patrol car and tried to ram another vehicle from behind. Collins was shot as he sped toward a deputy in his van north of Deer Lodge, Mont. Collins remained hospitalized in intensive care in Missoula, Mont., on Monday, Aug. 7, but apparently didn't suffer any life-threatening injuries. No charges have been filed.
