Vehicles are backed up along Interstate 69 in Indianapolis on Friday, May 9, 2014. Two construction workers removing traffic restrictions after overnight paving were killed Friday morning when a pickup truck crashed into them along Interstate 69 in northeast Indianapolis, police said. The crash happened about 5:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes a couple miles north of I-465, causing traffic heading into Indianapolis to back up for several miles in the heavily traveled suburban area. State Police Sgt. Rich Myers said investigators didn't immediately know why the driver of the pickup ran into the large arrow board set up in the left lanes of the highway or how fast the truck was going at the time. FILE - This Oct. 10, 2013 file aerial photo shows dead cattle in Sulphur Creek in western South Dakota during a flyover of areas hard hit by a snowstorm that killed thousands of animals. About one-third of the initial applications made to a federal aid program for disaster-stricken ranchers have come from the Dakotas, and most of the money given out so far has gone to South Dakota producers. South Dakota ranchers lost an estimated 43,000 cattle and other livestock in the October blizzard that struck early and with surprising ferocity. The Livestock Indemnity Program authorized by the new federal farm bill started taking applications April 15. (AP Photo/KOTA-TV, Pool, File)
