Mike Pompeo: U.S. to cut refugee admissions by one-third in fiscal 2019

The U.S. will reportedly cut the maximum number of refugees it will admit next year by one-third. According to NBC News, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the U.S. will cap the number of admittances at 30,000 in fiscal 2019, an amount that would be one-third less than 2018's cap of 45,000. Willie Nelson announced that he's backing Beto -- and some country fans aren't happy about that. The soft-voiced singer of such hits as "Always On My Mind" and "Whiskey River" not only endorsed Rep. Russian bombers intercepted by U.S. Air Force jets near Alaska on 9/11

A group of Russian nuclear-capable aircraft ventured near Alaska on Sept. 11 before being intercepted by U.S. Air Force jets. According to a statement from the North American Aerospace Defense Command, the two Tu-95 Bear bombers were escorted by two Su-35 Flanker fighters. Published September 12, 2018

Colin Kaepernick ad boosts Nike online sales

College of the Ozarks drops Nike over Colin Kaepernick ad

Nike's Colin Kaepernick campaign has cost it its first institutional contract. The College of the Ozarks reportedly said it would "choose its country over company" by terminating its Nike sponsorship deal and removing all Nike-branded athletic equipment or uniforms. Published September 6, 2018
