House Democrats pass health bill, in 2020 election maneuver

The House approved health-care legislation aimed at slashing drug costs and rolling back President Trump's changes to the 2010 health law, as Democrats sought to turn a winning midterm message into a 2020-election weapon. But the bill has no chance of advancing in the Senate, because of Republican complaints that Obamacare-related "poison pills" had eclipsed bipartisan work on prescription drugs. Trump wants to use point-based immigration system

Canada is known for world-class ski slopes, polite manners and the world's finest maple syrup, though President Trump is most envious of its immigration system, which uses a point-based system to pick most of its newcomers. Published May 16, 2019
