LOVERRO: Lefty Driesell had a courtside view of basketball history as it happened

Charles "Lefty" Driesell was a larger-than-life figure, and so his passing should be large as well -- perhaps more than just one column of tribute to the Hall of Fame coach who turned Maryland basketball into a Broadway show and college basketball into a passion in the Washington region. LOVERRO: Interesting event in Lions history spawned famous Plimpton book

The Detroit Lions don't have much of a championship history.
