MTV Twitter account hacks itself in marketing stunt

First, Burger King's Twitter account was hacked by a McDonald's fan, inadvertently gaining it more than 60,000 new followers. Then, Jeep's account was hacked by Cadillac enthusiasts in an apparent connected prank. But things got a little fishy when MTV's account was hacked by BET fans Wednesday, seeing that they're both owned by the same parent company Viacom. Published February 20, 2013

Colo. lawmakers suggest carrying pens, learning judo to deter attackers

The gun debate is heating up in Colorado, with politicians from all over the state trying to come up with a way to handle gun violence in a post-Newtown world. Two Colorado Democrats, specifically, have suggested that carrying ballpoint pens or learning judo are better alternatives than carrying a gun. Published February 20, 2013

Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass. blames pocket-dialing for his late-night, and later deleted, tweet in January. "Anyone ever hear of pocket tweet, pocket dial?" Brewery visited by Obama goes belly up

Just six months after Obama made a campaign stop at the Star Brewery in Dubuque, Iowa, the shop is now apparently closed. A sign posted on the front door says the business is "permanently closed," THonline.com reports. Published February 19, 2013

Jeep Twitter account hacked by apparent Cadillac enthusiasts

Yesterday, an apparent McDonald's enthusiast hacked Burger King's Twitter account, today, A Cadillac fan has hacked @Jeep. In what appears to be a connected cyberhack, a photo of a group of young black males in a decked out McDonald's mobile was briefly posted to Jeep's Twitter background at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The University of Colorado is a gun-free zone, with the exception of university police, and they have some tips for victims who find themselves in the midst of a brutal attack. According to the university's Department of Public Safety, telling your attacker that you have a disease or are menstruating are good ways to send your attacker running for the hills.
