OPINION:
Voters need to understand the damage caused by undermining our nation’s values and principles. Neither short- nor long-term impacts are worth it.
The use of legacy media, social media and Hollywood signals the desperation among Democratic leaders and political pundits to stop any progress toward unity.
A lot of taxpayers I know of are unhappy with Democrats’ refusal to work with Republicans. I watched the chaos last month as federal workers endured 44 days without pay. It took an emergency directive from the president to resolve the matter.
My aunt is 83 and has voted for Democrats since the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Recently, however, she decided to stop voting for the party.
The effects of the Democrats’ actions spread quickly, like cancer. The situation is akin to having teammates who disagree and fight because they oppose the new coach. It undermines success.
“No Kings” rallies and/or “Hands off” messaging enables adults to take advantage of our youths’ emotional vulnerabilities. The main message, disapproval of President Trump, can cause short- and long-term negative impacts. It’s like throwing a rock into the water to watch the ripples spread.
These actions cause unintended violent consequences, such as antisemitic actions and senseless crimes in our cities and at our educational institutions.
It seems that undermining Mr. Trump is an orchestrated message that has been totally embraced by Democratic congressional members, so our social divisions are getting worse.
I wish someone could explain this to Democrats.
