Inmates at a federal prison in Atlanta are upset that the “Superman: Man of Tomorrow” film crew has taken over part of their facility and disrupted their daily routines, multiple news outlets report.
Production crews are filming in a small section of the Federal Correctional Institution in Atlanta and are expected to wrap up at that location soon.
As a result, the prison appears to be under “modified operations status,” which forces inmates to stay in their cells more than usual and cuts off their access to the commissary, where they can purchase items, TMZ reports.
Inmates are still guaranteed at least three meals a day, water, medical and psychological services during any modified operations period.
DC Studios began filming “Superman: Man of Tomorrow,” the sequel to last summer’s blockbuster “Superman,” at the Atlanta prison earlier this month.
The prison scene displays where Lex Luthor, the notorious villain in the Superman comics, ended up after the first film.
“Superman: Man of Tomorrow,” directed and produced by James Gunn, is being distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and is scheduled for release on July 9, 2027.
