OPINION:
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries celebrated the Democrats’ redistricting win in Virginia by vowing to unleash “maximum warfare” against Republicans — and by logical extension, GOP voters. He also promised that Florida was the next Republican-dominated state the Democrats would “crush.”
This is not the language of those who truly serve the interests of the American people.
This is the lingo of politicians who have long forgotten that their whole reason for being is to defend the Constitution from enemies, both foreign and domestic, and in that regard, protect the God-given individual rights and liberties of American citizens.
This is the language and lingo of a Democrat Party that is treating the American people as if they’re the enemy. It’s a war cry, and it’s been echoing around the Democrat halls for years now, inciting voters to confront MAGA types at their places of business, places of residence, places of dining; threatening that conservatives will reap the whirlwinds of angry protest from their actions; calling on citizens to forcefully rise and put a stop to federal immigration agents who are simply trying to do their jobs.
Jeffries is a party leader, and his words not only carry weight. They carry far.
They seem to suggest that those who vote Republican don’t count; that the majority of the country who voted for President Trump and that the majority of those Republicans currently in office who were duly elected by majorities all around America are enemies of the state.
From Politico: “Voters approved a new congressional map that adds up to four Democratic leaning districts, handing the party a stronger chance of retaking the House. The minority leader is leaning in, taunting Republicans and vowing ‘maximum warfare, everywhere, all the time.’”
Jeffries then added, “Democrats defeated Donald Trump’s gerrymandering scheme in Virginia. We will crush the DeSantis Dummymander in Florida next.”
Jeffries is a party beast.
But this is not how America’s government is supposed to work.
Politicians work for the American people — they’re public servants; employees for the civilian sector. And they’re supposed to be humble in their service.
Politics is not supposed to be a game of warfare between two parties vying for power, but rather a collaborative effort for the various ideologues to make America the best it can possibly be — and toward that end, securing the individual rights of citizens and ensuring the freedoms that the founders guaranteed in the Constitution are protected.
Citizens don’t exist to serve the masters in politics.
Politicians exist to serve and protect the citizens.
Jeffries, like too many in the political halls, has forgotten that concept. When Democrats talk about crushing the opposition and waging warfare against those on the other side of the political aisle, what they’re really vowing is to silence and destroy half of America. They think they rule. They forget their place. They’re deplorable in attitude and deed. It’s going to take a spiritual revival to unseat them and replace them with servants who understand that in America, it’s the God-given, not the government-granted, that properly rules.
