OPINION:
There are few individuals who are universally admired for their leadership on the world stage with grace, poise, dignity and gentility. There are fewer still who have these qualities and have also endured countless challenges and personal tragedies. The late Queen Elizabeth was such a rare individual (“America’s leaders pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II as a warm, steady leader,” Web, Sept. 8).
She served to solidify the treasured and long-standing bond between our countries, and if she ever had a political leaning, it was invisible. She was a friend to American presidents of both major parties.
Elizabeth was truly the people’s queen. She shall be fondly remembered and her memory cherished for all time.
