Daniel Faalele has never taken an NFL snap, but he’s already in a class of his own.
After the Minnesota offensive tackle was drafted by the Ravens in the fourth round on Saturday, he became set to hold the mantle as the NFL’s heaviest player next season.
Faalele, an Australia native who moved to the United States to pursue a football career, was measured at 6-foot-8 and 384 pounds at the NFL combine. His 384-pound weight puts him ahead of the heaviest player during the 2021 NFL season: Patriots lineman Trent Brown, who is 380 pounds.

Scouts and NFL fans marveled at Faalele’s size throughout the pre-draft process. Size is a vital part of playing offensive line, but some have wondered if Faalele is actually too big. He is also a raw prospect, having only played football for the last six years.

A HUGE developmental right tackle, can throw the ball can probably run the ball, heck throw it to him too.

Despite his inexperience, Faalele was an All-Big Ten Conference selection last season for the Golden Gophers. He played right tackle at Minnesota and allowed only one sack in 13 games last year.
