Washington Commanders coach Ron Rivera will be one of eight speakers at John Madden’s public memorial service Monday night.

The Madden family is hosting the event with all proceeds going to the John Madden Foundation, which provides educational opportunities for children in Oakland, California.

The other speakers are: Chiefs coach Andy Reid, former coach Steve Mariucci, Raiders Hall of Famer Art Shell, broadcaster Lesley Visser, former player and executive Matt Millen, former news anchor Stan Bunger and Madden’s son Mike Madden.

After John Madden died on Dec. 28, NFL players and coaches came out with stories about the Hall of Fame coach and broadcaster. Rivera said his first meeting with Madden “helped galvanize my attitude and feelings about being the head coach.”

“He‘s always been very supportive, always been there and he was a tremendous inspiration for me,” Rivera said.

The service at RingCentral Coliseum will begin at 8:30 p.m.
