CHARLESTON, Mo. (AP) - Authorities have found a 15-year-old girl and canceled an Amber Alert that was issued after a relative reported that the teen had been abducted.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol had issued the alert Friday morning. Charleston police said the teen was walking home after dropping her sister off at a bus stop when a family member saw someone take her to the ground and then put her into a black SUV. The relative then called 911.
The teen was found safe later walking along a county road, but the patrol says the suspect vehicle has not been found.
Police are trying to obtain surveillance footage for the neighborhood.
