ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis police are searching for a man who appeared at first to be a good Samaritan by helping an elderly woman load groceries - only to pull out a gun and take her minivan moments later.

Police say the carjacking happened Saturday. The 76-year-old victim said she was picking up a food donation from a church when a man came over and helped her put the groceries into her vehicle.

The woman said she thanked the man and offered him a ride out of gratitude. Police say that as they drove, the man pulled out a pistol and ordered her out of her 2006 Dodge Caravan. She complied and the man drove away.
