PASADENA, Md. (AP) - Police in Maryland are investigating after they say two children were abducted from a gas station but later found unharmed.

Anne Arundel County Police issued a news release Monday about the incident, which happened Friday night at a gas station in Pasadena.

Police said a woman stepped out of her vehicle and left it running with a 2-year-old and 6-month-old inside. A white man wearing a plaid long-sleeve shirt took the vehicle and fled the scene.

After a search involving officers, police dogs and helicopters, the vehicle was found a “short distance away” with the children unharmed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department.
