LAURENS, S.C. (AP) - Three people are dead after the vehicle they were in went down an embankment, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened Wednesday afternoon about 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) east of Laurens, troopers said.
The highway patrol said the vehicle went off the right side of the road, then the left before traveling down an embankment, and hitting a tree., WYFF-TV reported.
Two passengers were pronounced dead on the scene. The vehicle’s driver was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, troopers said.
The victims’ names have not yet been released.
