RYEGATE, Vt. (AP) - A Ryegate woman died over the weekend after the ATV she was riding rolled down a ravine, Vermont State Police said.
Police were called to Scott Highway in Ryegate for the report of an unresponsive woman on Saturday shortly before 1 p.m. Troopers found 78-year-old Marjory Cassidy about 80 feet down a ravine on the ground next to the ATV. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
It appeared that she backed up the ATV too close to the ravine, causing it to roll down it, police said.
