PHOENIX (AP) - A man who had collapsed on a Phoenix street died after being run over by a car whose driver had gotten out to help him, police said.
The woman stopped her car but in her haste to get out to help the man failed to put it in park Thursday, police said.
The man had appeared to have a “medical event” while standing on a sidewalk before he collapsed on the adjacent street, police said.
The man, 34-year-old Michael Phillips, died at a hospital and the Maricopa County medical examiner will determine cause of death, police said.
The 55-year-old woman’s identity wasn’t released.
