COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Fire officials are investigating after two people died in a South Carolina house fire.

Columbia Fire Department officials say crews responded to a house fire in the northern part of the city before dawn Saturday.

Firefighters found the home heavily ablaze, with two people inside.



Tyrone and Connie Sanders died from carbon monoxide poisoning because of the fire, said the Richland County Coroner’s Office.

The home was heavily damaged. The Richland Count Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
