KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Investigators believe a pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash was intentionally run down, Kansas City police said.
The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Monday in the city’s Blue Valley Park, when officers responded to reports of a crash involving a man who was hit by a vehicle. Police said the man died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle left the scene and abandoned the vehicle a short distance later, police said. Investigators said initial evidence indicated the collision was an intentional act, and the case was turned over to the department’s homicide unit.
No arrests had been reported by Tuesday morning. Police had not released the identities of the victim or the suspected driver by early Tuesday.
