PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police are seeking help from the public in finding a car that struck and killed a pedestrian in Philadelphia before fleeing the scene.
The unidentified victim was crossing a street shortly before 10 p.m. Monday north of the city center when he was struck, police said. Police said the driver pulled over and got out of the car, then returned to the car and fled the scene.
The victim was transported to Jefferson Hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead less than an hour later, police said.
Police said the vehicle has damage to the front of the passenger side and the windshield, and the rear view mirror from the passenger side was found at the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call accident investigators or emergency dispatchers.
