LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a 19-year-old is jailed on a murder charge in the shooting death of a man whose body was found in a sleeping bag in the desert off Lake Mead Boulevard east of Las Vegas.
Las Vegas police said Wednesday that Michael Miller was arrested Tuesday in the investigation of the slaying of 47-year-old Raul James Salazar.
Records show that Miller is being held at the Clark County jail pending a court appearance Friday. It’s not immediately clear if he has a lawyer.
Police Officer Alejandra Zambrano says Miller declined a jailhouse interview request.
Police have said Salazar was killed somewhere else before his body was dumped off the two-lane highway also known as State Route 147.
Red Rock Search and Rescue members found his body last Friday.
