RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Police say a man was killed after he was hit by an Amtrak train in North Carolina’s capital city.

News outlets report Raleigh police say the accident occurred on the city’s south side around 9:10 a.m. on Monday.

Train No. 92 originated in Miami and was heading north to New York when the unidentified man was struck. Amtrak suspended service while police investigated the incident.



Authorities provided no additional details, including why the man was on the tracks.
