BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) - Argentine soccer player Ezequiel Esperón has died after falling from the sixth floor of a building in Buenos Aires. He was 23.

Esperón’s boyhood club Atlético All Boys confirmed the death in a statement, saying it was “deeply saddened” by the accident.

The accident happened Sunday when part of a balcony collapsed, according to witnesses.

Esperón previously played as a midfielder for Mexico’s Atlante and Brazilian rivals Gremio and Internacional. He had been without a contract since leaving Atlante in May.
