BETHEL, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police say they believe a truck driver lost his brakes before a crash that claimed his life in the town of Bethel.
Troopers say it appeared that 32-year-old Tyler Webster, of Barnard, was trying to avoid traffic after losing his brakes on a downhill section of road Friday afternoon.
Troopers say the logging truck, unable to slow down, attempted to turn, then brushed against a parked car, and hit a tree as it overturned.
Webster died at Gifford Medical Center. No one else was hurt. Troopers say an investigation into the crash is continuing.
