ORANGE, Mass. (AP) - Workers have removed methane from a tanker truck that overturned in a crash that killed the driver on a northern Massachusetts highway.

Authorities say Route 2 in Orange reopened Saturday afternoon after having been closed overnight. The tanker crashed through a guardrail and rolled down an embankment Friday night.

State police say they will not identify the driver until after relatives are notified. The cause of the wreck is under investigation.

The area near the crash site was evacuated, but officials later determined the scene to be safe. Hazardous materials experts monitored the cleanup effort.

Officials say the Exit 14 ramp on the westbound side of the highway will remain closed through the day and into Sunday for repairs and cleanup.
